5 years from the date the permit was issued. Note - you will NOT get a renewal reminder from the Sheriff, it is your responsibility to renew on time.

You can turn in your paperwork 120 days before your permit expires.

I live in CA, can I purchase a gun in Nevada?

Yes, however it is not practical, you would have to make sure the firearm is CA compliant and find a CA FFL willing to accept the firearm on your behalf, then they will complete all CA required paperwork.

Is my out of state CCW Permit good the the background check?

No. If you are a new to Nevada your out of state CCW Permit is only valid for 60 day from the date you become a NV resident.
