Yes, however it is not practical, you would have to make sure the firearm is CA compliant and find a CA FFL willing to accept the firearm on your behalf, then they will complete all CA required paperwork.

Yes, Nevada offers non-resident concealed weapons permits. You are required to attend a Nevada approved Concealed Weapons class in the state of Nevada. Once you pass that class you are required to take the appropriate paperwork to the Sheriff of the County where you took the course to apply for the actual permit. 

No. If you are a new to Nevada your out of state CCW Permit is only valid for 60 day from the date you become a NV resident.

Anyone wishing to attend our CCW Permit training course must be able to do the following:

Safely present your handgun from a holster

Safely load & Unload your handgun

Safely return the handgun to your holster

You must also be able to hit an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper from 21' (Feet) 30 times without missing. (This is a simple self test you can do youself to see if you are ready)

The Course of Fire for a Nevada CCW Permit is set by the Nevada Sheriffs and Cheifs Association. 

A humanoid style target such as the B27, B21 or FBI Q shall be used. 

A total of 30 live rounds for 6 shot or larger capacity handguns. Score of no less than 210/300  

OR

A total of 25 live rounds for 5 shot capacity handguns.  Score of no less than 175/250  

A minimum score of 70% is required to pass. 

1st string of fire is from the 3 yard line

2nd sting of fire is from the 5 yard line and includes a reload

3rd string of fire is from the 7 yard line and includes a reload

Handguns will be holstered at all times unless you are actively shooting during the instructed course of fire. 

Our class sizes vary by the type of class.

Our Orientation class is limited to 4 students and we have 2 instructors - this way students questions get answered. This allows us 1 on 1 time when at the shooting range and are actually learning how to safely use a firearm.

Our Saturday CCW Classes are limited to 20 students (when on the firing line we run 10 people at a time) and we have a ratio of one range instructor for every two students when we are shooting the qualification course of fire. 

Since we started teaching in Carson City in 2012 we have taught over 800 classes with over 5700 students as of July 2025. This includes instructor students who are are now NRA Certified as Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun Instructors. Some of these instructors are now CCW Instructors as well. These instructors are now teaching from their home states, including Alaska, California, Florida, Idaho, New Mexico, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, and of course right here in Nevada.
